AVG - Day 8

Q: Dear Guruji you told us that our life is driven by happiness, then why is there so much suffering, pain in this world?

Sri Sri : Mullah naseerudin`s wife was in her last month of pregnancy .The case had some complications so the doctor advised Mullah to go for a surgery. Then Mullah replied you need not have to do surgery. Wait I will come. The doctors waited not knowing where Mullah went .Finally Mullah was back with some toys. Why did you go to the toy shop the doctors questioned him. Mullah replied “He is my child so he is bound to be greedy listening to the toys sound he might come out easily without any pain to my wife.”

We are greedy in both the planes i.e. in spiritual as well as materialistic plane. In both the planes we are greedy. There is greed to get something ,always. How are you going to get happiness in pursuit of greed/profit my dear? Neither the person who is full of desires nor the person who is greedy, it is the person who is NISHKRIYA who gets the bliss. The happiness or pleasure you get in the company of others is very insignificant; It is like the flame of a candle. Nisangh is the key to real happiness. In the pursuit of search for happiness our body, mind and praana all are burnt and then too we are left empty handed. And then you again go through the cycles of birth and death to again search for happiness. When you get a guru who tells you “YOU ARE NIRANJANAH” you become pacified and relax and then become happy. Become nishkriya.(Iska matlab ye nahi ki hum usko karna chhod de nahi.(Yagya , daan ,tap sab kaarya hai aur in sab kaarya se bhi sukh milta hai. Karna hai lekin iske bawajood who kushi seemit hai.Uska apna sthaan hai.)You experience your real form only in Nishkriyata. Its easy to say that “become nishkriya” but it is the most difficult thing. We can never stay quite. For small periods of time, meditate. Become calm and peaceful.(rajogun shaanth ho tab nishkriya ho jaate hai).when we clap together for singing a bhajan what happens after we sing, we get tired and and we sit quite for 2 minutes, we slip into meditation. We climb up the hills of VAISHNO DEVI why then the rajogun gets relaxed and then the, moment you enter the temple premises and sit there and you relax you enter deep into the realm of yourself and you feel good. Why is the structure for climbing the hills? The more the pride the more to prove by action enforces us to do something. You did something ok but then relax somewhere .When you climb the mountains praanayam happens and then you get all the aches but yet when you see the shrine what happens you get happiness when you rest there for few minutes you go into meditation. But here you do all the pranayaam and on the kriya and get the same amount of bliss that too without any aches. The moment that feverishness or desire of action gets rid off, then you become NISHKRIYA. (sang se milne waala sukh seemit hai)The liveliness /capacity of the senses to enjoy are limited. How much will you listen to satsang, pravachan and music? Seeing,touch,taste,and smell all have limited capacity to enjoy but the greed of the mind is unlimited. It is with us before your birth itself. We have been playing with different types of toys and moving ahead. This is happening even in the spiritual realm also. The greed is only moving you ahead. Go beyond greed.(Samadhi se siddhiyan milti hain)But for that don’t hold Samadhi also. Samadhi can happen with eyes open also. Samadhi means to nurture your mind in such a way that you see everything in the equal way or equal plane. It is like you liked the shampoo that you have applied on your hair and you don’t want to wash off your hair. To sublime the ego the techniques of samadhi is given but of you have the ego of Samadhi itself then it is wrong. This at times takes us on the path of greed also. The person who is happy can never have greed.(dene ka anootha ananad hai).Only the rich can give.(Lene ka anand bachpana hai.Dene ka anand rayees ka hai)A person who has wealth may not give what he has .Is that called richness???? NO. Only the rich can give. I am free and I am happy- only this thing is true or worth attaining. Let anybody take or not that should not bother you from your nature of giving. Like a flower never says that my smell should not reach that person or this person. Be with this innate nature and be happy and contented. Become happily intoxicated with this thought .I am oozing with and oozing out happiness. Giving is my nature.( Mere ko koi lena dena nahi hai)Become liberated with this thought.

Don’t become a victim of small mind (chothe man).(Tumse saara sansaar oth proth hai).Now you will think how is it true?(kaise ban gaya)Do you know how many trucks of food has gone into your mouth?

Including breakfast, lunch , dinner, snacks and everything you eat aprrox 2kgs of food daily so for 365 days how much (365 *2 is 370) approximately 750 kgs of food and you have lived here for 40-50 years so you have consumed totally about 750 * 40 is 30000 kg that is approx 5-6 full truck loads of food has gone. How many gallons of water you have drunk? All this must have gone and half must have gone through your bowels and the other half must have been through your body constitution and all the liquids through sweat and urine. Just wake your mind up. All these are recycled. The entire body changes in one year. In one month the skin ,in 3 months the bone and in 24 hours the entire blood changes(yeh sab parmaanu ka haer pher hai)You are an immutable part of the Sun. If the sun would not have been there the entire existence would have collapsed.(Tum aur sansaar abhibhaajya(inseperable) hai).All these five elements seem to be gross but they are all just vibrations. Where is your thought? There are some good thoughts and there are some bad thoughts. You are beyond the realm of thoughts. Your thoughts are affected by the place and the food. You become focused on your self. You are always pure mind and liberated. Just remember this feeling.(jab trupt rahte ho to apeksha nahi hoti).there is a desire behind anger. When you are happy, how can any desire come. What do we call vikaar as – it is nothing but pride and anger. The feeling of superiority complex comes within us that we are something great .It is good in a way you should have it. There is something hidden when you see stiffness. To hide something only we show that we are rigid (pol ko chipaane ke liye hi akad hai).Being natural and easy come along with fulfillment. If you are full, then becoming fee of desires is but natural.(kshobhit chit mein kami hai).A wavering intellect or an unsteady mind always lacks something. To hide that we do so many drams and schemes. One who is very rich will not show off one who has become rich will show off. You have got such a deep and vast mind and yet you consider yourself as a fool. If you consider so, you will be like that only. (jasie bddhi waise gati)We have to keep some or the other desire then keep your desire for the chaitanya or consciousness.For life there should be a direction (dariya ko behane ke liye dishaa to chahiye).The goal of any desire is happiness. So keep that desire towards chinmaatra chaitanya.and move towards it.(Satsang mein chaitanya ki shakti milti hai)Keep having this desire of satsang.

All the scientists say that whatever has a form is not true and why it is not true because it all changes. There are changes in your face and body. The more you try to stop the ageing process it is not possible. The body moves on its own principles. The most gross is the bone and the most subtle is the mind. Every year there is a change in the bone of the dead body. Then in the alive the changes are more prominent and faster. Everything is bound to change here. The bone which is seen as gross and the mind which is subtle is also bound to change.(Man,buddhi, ko bhi saakar maana gaya hai sirf aatma niraakar hai).All that is having a shape is bound to change. And you are not SAAKAAR. You are NIRAAKAR. This knowledge of the tatwwa(elemental knowledge) if you get it from an enlightened being or a guru then you will have no birth again. However if wish to take birth you can. It is like the guide and the traveler are walking. Both experience different states of emotions. The one who is a traveler is frightened, looks everywhere with doubt, is afraid to keep the next step and all these but the guide is like a staff .He is leading the traveler. He knows what happens at every step. But both travel the same way. Both the guide and the traveler are on the same route similarly the life is being lead both by gyaani and agyaani .An enlightened being enjoys his life with absolute happiness and bliss whereas the same life is lead by an agyaani by always cribbing and crying.

AVG - Day 7

Once Mullah Nasirudeen had lost his donkey and was very happy and when people asked him why are you thanking GOD on loosing the donkey? Mullah replied “I am thanking because I was not riding the donkey when it got lost”. Then after a long time he started searching for the donkey long and deep and every where he could search, he didn’t find the donkey. He pasted posters everywhere saying that “those who find the donkey will get the donkey and an extra amount” Now people were surprised, they asked mullah “Mullah its ok that you are giving a price for the donkey but why are you giving away the donkey also” Mullah replies “Let them also experience the joy of searching”
Loosing has its own fun (mazaa).Gaining something also has its own fun (mazaa).You have to learn to loose also. There is happiness in loosing away something. Only search is also a pleasant experience. And where will you search? You will find it in person, things and situations then you won’t get anything. We tell “RAM NAAM STYA HAI” in the ears of a dead person, we don’t realize it when we are alive. How will the dead realize? Don’t leave satsang at any cost. You have boarded a bus and you have been told to get down at particular stop then you need to get down there, right. Why do you board a bus? You board it because you board it at a different place and you get down at a different place. But desires will take in a MERRY GO ROUND trip. They make you drive in circles and circles and you finally land up where you started. Every desire brings you back to the same state where you were before the desire arose in you. After so many gymnastics to fulfill the desire you land being where you were before. You have heard some knowledge, then become empty. Don’t keep on holding to the knowledge(bodh swaroop mein tik jao)Every atom of this universe is filled with knowledge.(chaitanya sansaar mein prakat hai).You happen to see a rope in the form of a snake. What seems to be so different is nothing but the same ONE. For e.g. Your mobile takes your voice in and changes it into vibrations and these vibrations go into the sky and then again reaches another cell phone and again converts itself to voice. This is actually now called as string theory. This whole world is like a rope. Even if ne thread in the rope is removed then it becomes difficult for the rope to be there. But however this world keeps changing its shape and colors. There is nothing permanent here and there is nothing that is changing here. Nothing is destroyed in this plane of existence. At the same nothing is permanent here. What is that essence (tatwwa).It is anirvachniya. It can be explained or expressed. It is there, yet it is not there, this is maaya. You are above these, you are the master of these, and you are permanent. This bodh(knowledge) will dawn on you only when you rest(vishraam) (man vikshipt bana rahe to anubhooti nahi hoti).Dharm-adharm, pleasure – sorrow are all in plane of mind. In pure buddhi(intelligence) is only witness(shudh buddhi mein bodh hoga).I am not in any kind of bondage. Loosing has its own fun (mazaa).Gaining something also has its own fun (mazaa).
We have that illusion “to see rope as a snake” The moment the light of knowledge came to us we moved from fearfulness to humor and we started laughing at ourselves on our childish thinking. Inside and outside us is the same tattwa(substance). Realize that. Inside and outside us is the same aakash. The value of a pot is for the space that it carries inside and not for the outer clay. There is a value for its emptiness inside it. (Guruji spoke about some plastic elements and bio-degradable substances and told how plastic is harming the environment)The space within you has the real value. If you don’t respect this fact then you will be in a heavy loss. Don’t go by the outer covering (skin).There is nothing inside and outside except for aakash. Your consciousness is within you and outside you. It is like the flame of a candle surrounding the wick. The body is the wick and the mind is the flame. Recognize this flame of light. Once you come out of this illusion you will realize that you are liberated. Once Mullah was suffering from a pshycomatic disorder and he considered himself as dead. Now you can understand the condition of the family members. Then his wife took him to a psychiatrist and told him about mullah`s problem. The psychiatrist said “You know, mullah” Mullah interrupted saying “how can a dead man know anything, I am dead”. Then the psychiatrist replied “You understand that there is only water in the veins of a dead man, right?” Mullah nodded he said Yes. And then feeling happy that his treatment was working he said to Mullah`s wife “Keep my money ready” and he took a needle and poked the finger of Mullah and said to him “Look blood is coming out of you finger that means you are alive and not dead.”Mullah replied “That is not the case. Today I realized that even the dead have blood running in their veins.”
That means to say the inner pride(abhimaan) has caught us so tightly. The way you think is the way you become. Worries just drop down from our faces like sweat .With the sword of knowledge destroy your worries. Leave the bonding and things that bind you. Cut the rope of ignorance with the sword of knowledge. We all are made up of aanand. Its just like cleaning the dust on the mirror and for that only knowledge is the tool by which that dirt is going to be cleansed. Some people relax in material work but there are some people who get stuck up in religious work (ekadashi vrat and all that).Say if we don’t do fasting or puja, this and that god will get angry and we get afraid and we can’t relax. There are so many different types of illusion. If the materialistic person is bound by something then so is the righteous man who follows all the rituals also is bound. By giving the body unnecessary pain and torturing the self they do fasting and all that. Even this is a kind of bondage. In the same way to relax the vikshiipt man the technique is Samadhi. Samaadhi doesn’t mean burying yourself under the ground and keeping your legs inside the ground and keeping the other half above the ground, and all that. What you are achieving out of this is nothing but you are also taking away the space provided by nature for the small insects and other lives.(mein bodh swaroop hoon,aananad swaroophoon iska bodh hote hi tum mukt ho)To come out of the fluttering mind, heavy sorrow and inexpressible sadness the answer is Samadhi. But then why do you hold on to Samadhi. The moment you hold thoughts about samadhi ,you become bound by them. Become a witness to the thoughts. You are a witness to all the actions.(prakruti mein kriya chalti rahegi)Yes of course all the activities in the body will calm down when you meditate. However all the natural activities that are involuntary in nature keep happening, right? But if you consider that when all the activities stop then only Samadhi will happen, then it’s wrong. Through meditation you can access control on para synthetic system. But all these are not happening in you. You are like the vast sky which is a witness to all. Let all the activities happen. Don’t hold a preconceived notion about Samadhi in your mind which is nothing but your foolishness. There is no action happening in you. Just sit till and witness that nothing is happening to you. You are listening, reading and yet there is nothing that is happening inside you. There are some actions happening in your body and mind but nothing is happening IN you. I am asangha. I am doing nothing(nishkriya).I am myself the illumined one(prakaash swaroop).I am niranjana. Today before you sleep feel that you are Narayna all these days you slept like nar(human).Narayan hokar thodi der shaant hokar baith jao. Neend bhi Samadhi jaisi hoti hai. Bodh ho to neeend bhi Samadhi hai.

AVG - Day 6

When this body gets dirty you wash it with soap and water. The same way even the prana gets dirty.Pranayam cleanses the prana in our body. The prana gets burnt in fulfillment of desires(bhog mein pran jal jaata hai).Bhakti and kirtan cleanse the heart(emotions).When you sing a bhajan with full emotions what happens is ,your heart gets cleansed.(bhaav se man shudh hota hai).Knowledge cleanses the mind. These are all temporary and not permanent and bound to end with time. Just look at your face in the mirror, after 2-3 minutes you will feel the changes. Nothing is there in this body, it is only ashes. It is a collection of parmaanu (yeh sab parmaanu ka sangrah hai).What ever has to happen, let it happen now, its right now happening (here the “it” is referred to degeneration of molecules when death happens).By mistake we see it as happening tomorrow. The bud has already blossomed but it is sold only tomorrow as a flower. The body is ashes, to remind that we apply ashes (bhasm) all over. How will you ever consider this body as separate until and unless you are attached to it? This is going to be ashes .Only by having a pure mind can you have aatmagyaan (knowledge of the self).When we have to leave everything then why we have to do anything. What is the benefit of satsang and pranayaam? (man aur buddhi dono shudh hote hai, jahaan safaai hoti hai wahin gyaan upajata hai).When we have to leave everything, then why we have to do all these? What is the benefit of satsang pranayaam? Satsang and pranayaam are there to purify your mind and body. When body, mind and heart are pure then it makes space for aatmagyaan.Janak was no ordinary person, he had done what he to do, he had that desire to wake up and this is shows that the janak had a pure mind. Don’t consider yourself anywhere less than janak. You have come here, sitting here and listening for a month this tapasya is not less. The very desire for you to be liberated has brought you here.
“Praan ki geharaai mein bhaav hai aur bhaav ki gehraai mein bodh hai”
If the body is pure then the praan will be pure and if praan is pure the mind will be pure and when mind is pure then your emotions will be pure. These are all in different layers of existence. When everything is pure and clean, our observe that your breath will also be in a different rhythm. It’s not only your emotions that affect your own self but also it affects others. When all the minds unite together satsang happens. In the company of a greedy person even you tend to become the same.tumhara asar logon par padta hai jab tumko bodh ho .There was a gardener who was seated on a machan(heightened platform) where he used to call people and tell them take away everything from the field and when people used to come e used to scold them and send them away. Puzzled on his behavior the people checked out the reason behind it they found out that the reason was beneath the machan was the throne of KING VIKRAMAADITYA.This story goes to proves us that our thoughts have their effect for years to come. Not on does the world put its effect on you but you also are equally influential on this world.Infact your impact on world is more. For e.g. A small virus like H1N1 had created such a havoc. When a small virus which was borrowed from other country and had spread in INDIA could cause so much havoc ,is your effect in any way miniature when compared to that. You are definitely more powerful than the virus in creating an impact. You leave an impact on this world for several years .In each person here is a great power(power of thoughts) and it has definitely its own effect on others. If we develop negative thoughts then we leave a negative impact on this planet. It will spread from your friends,neighbours and slowly to the entire world. CHANGE THIS ATTITUDE AND CYCLE. This entire universe is just an extension/projection of your aatma.If the very root of your emotions is filled with negativity, then there is something seriously wrong. You have poured poison in the roots itself. Poison of worries have cropped up in your mind, that’s why there has been so much importance for surrender. When you surrender, let go all the poisonous worries are converted to sweet nectar. Negative thoughts make you like stone-hearted. It gives you sorrow. Make positive thoughts for your base. Spread the sweet aroma of happiness (sukh) as that is your nature. My dear ,you are made up of aanand.Thinking about what are you so worried about? There is a person who sits behind the projector and the entire reel of film which is being projected is just light. For a good both Rama and Ravana are the same. People find it difficult to play the role which they are supposed to play. You just don’t want to playa negative character in a drama just because you might be influenced by it(this is taadatmaya).You are the form of bliss. Over here everything is made form anu and paramaanu.It is all made up of same substance, like in a different forms of sugar crystals but the sugar remains the same. You are stuck with so much taadatmaya(false identification).This doesn’t mean if everything is the same , I will start eating non veg,even though I am a veg.No that’s wrong. Strike a balance between your behavior and pure knowledge. The goal of life is that pure knowledge and it is important to make it a part of life. We tend to see a snake in the form of rope. This whole world is seen in your aatma.These are not any different existence. The more subtle you go, you find that they are all the same. Breath is same in everyone. More subtle than the praana (breath) is the mind. That’s why we are happy when we meet someone and sad when we meet someone else.(man ka ek field hai.avaran hai,visstaar hai).And why seva? We are interconnected in this environment, If a person is happy then that person will spread that that happiness to you also. You realize that you are bliss(aanand) and become happy(sukh) .Let your smile be from such a depth that it can never be shaken, that will come only from bodh. Bliss is hidden in that bodh, realize that .when will that happen and how will that happen ,I am bound. I am bound by my family, by money, by other relatives and all ,everywhere I go there is a bondage then when will I feel that I am free(mukt).Then ashtavakra says “ The pride of a mukt lies in mukti and that of a bond lies in the binding”(mukt ka abhimaani mukti hai,aur bandh ka abhimani bandh hai)As is your mind, so is your advancement(jaise mati waise gati)What do we say ,that’s the truth ,what you think only happens.(tum jiska abhimaan karte ho ya sochte ho waise hi tum rahne lagte ho).If you have pride in thinking yourself as a thief you become a thief similarly if you have pride in thinking that I am useless you will become useless. Somebody asked Guruji how do I increase my self confidence? Guruji: There is no chance. it will never improve. One w ho considers himself weak, will remain weak. OUR PRIDE MUST BE IN MUKTI. What mistake are we doing? You experienced pleasure, you were bond in that .You experienced sorrow, you were bound by that. The two are in the existence of mind. The pride we take in considering overselves something is just on the layer of mind. We are above all these. There was a saint who was captivated and imprisoned had the order to be treated like a slave but he considered himself as free always ,so finally the soldiers were first surprised by his behavior and ultimately was let free. We never look into ourselves, we are always muddled up. Wake up, associate your pride with being lberated. When an ill person starts giving the description of his illness to doctor and the doctor convinces him saying that there is no illness the patient gets angry. These kind of illusion we create for ourselves.(tarah tarah ki vibrhaanti / bhram paida kar ete hai)To be bound is also this kind of illusion. What responsibility do you have? Everyone has the same master. He is taking care of everyone. What do you have to do? You are anyways going to die tomorrow or other. He is taking everyone`s responsibility. That doesn’t mean you run away from your responsibility, no. Janak is attending all his duties and he is doing it with the feeling of freedom. One who doesn’t feel entangled in the work he does it perfectly. The moment you feel entangled you become lazy and careless in your attitude.(mukt hokar kaam karoge t prassan chit rahoge aur karne ke waste kaam karoge to usko bhoj samjohge)
All these are the same with different different names.(jo saakshi hai wahi atma hai,wahi ishwar hai,poorn hai,ek hai,chit shakti hai ,chaitanya hai).It doesn’t do anything. Deep within you there is something which happens and then you say I did not do it ,it happened for a particular event. The moment you experience fearlessness, satisfaction and completeness then you are one with that ONE. There is no difference between guru, aatma and your favorite deity. In the presence of guru mind, praana and body are purified because we feel a sense of being full/complete. Because of illusion we have considered ourselves as a part of this universe.(tum vaastav mein asang ho).You ask a child ”what do you want?”it says”nothing”. This feeling is called nispruha. When you feel full and complete then you also become nispruh. When we consider ourselves as beggars of desires it is an illusion. The wealthy is the one who has no desires. If there is a desire you are a beggar. Wealthy is the one who is nispruha. If we have a desire for knowledge then what, that we ill see tomorrow.

AVG - Day 5

We consider ourselves as someone or somebody that only binds us and we are not liberated. This is the challenge that our country is facing today. Either we consider ourselves as shoshit (one who is ruled/prosecuted) or shoshak (one who rules/prosecutes).In either of the cases you are filled with aatma glaani (self-pity) or you are filled with fear (bhaya bheet).In fear there is no feeling of belongingness. In either these cases we are not happy. You are ever present and pure consciousness like the sky (aakash) .Don’t limit yourself to your limited roles, profession. You are much bigger than them. (tum apne simit paatr se bahut bade ho).Either we consider ourselves as too good or too weak either of these feelings is not favorable for the person who is treading THIS path. We get entangled by thinking that “WE ARE SOMEONE” and then we start enjoying this thinking, that is the biggest misfortune and it is a sign of victim consciousness ( rugn chitta).And you are not that. We have to change our way of looking at it (drishthi badalne ki der hai).Aatma is ever present like the sky. Who says you are bound. You are liberated and the witness of all. It`s only that you have forgotten that you are liberated.”I am doing” – this big black serpentine feeling has bit you.”I am not the doer” drink the nectar of this feeling and become happy. It`s like the poison of the doer ship has spread in every pore of your body, to counter that poison drink the nectarine feeling of “I AM NOT THE DOER” and become happy. You go and ask any biggest of biggest culprit, “Did you commit the crime?” His reply will be” I never knew how I did it. It just happened. I did not do it.”A person kills his wife, wife`s brother and his sister-in-law and goes and admits in police station that he did but when asked why did he do it. He replies “I never knew what I was doing. It just happened in the flare of anger. I did not do it.” There is one tattwa which is a witness which has never involved in any action or which has never done anything. Keep your thoughts pure, you eat pure food, and take care of the company(sang) you are with as all these effect our mind, body however the pure consciousness(self) is the akarta or the non-doer.
“I am the only one, pure and bodh roop(embodiment of knowledge )”- Having this strong nischay(thought/decision) clear the darkest of ignorance .Discarding all grief become happy. We all have an innate desire to be happy we have a greed for happiness. Even meditation we do it for the sake of happiness because we have the greed to be with the paramaatma .We do any work, any entertainment, or we play or we do any action with liking for it is just because we have the goal to find that one happiness in it. Either by bhog or by yog you just want happiness (bhog se ya yog se bus such mile) .Why is there a desire for happiness, it is because you want yourself (yeh chah hai kyunki tumhara chah apne aap ka hai).It is because you are the source of all happiness(tum sukhswaroop ho).For ex. A dog starts chewing a bone and after sometime it starts bleeding and the poor dog thinks that blood is coming out from the bone. Similarly, we think that we are getting happiness out of something that’s our foolishness. When there is duality there is fear. Where there is love there is unity. Where there is fear how can love exist there. It is because of doer ship that fear arises. You are bodh maatra(the mere presence which witnesses) ,don’t fall in greed ,as greed will take you too far away from happiness. The presence for what you are searching, is you. You are that presence you have been searching for so long. You need not have to go to pilgrimages, caves and all that. Just be there that’s it. We stick our happiness to certain things and these things keep changing. And the gap in which the change happens is the point where we get carried away that is called as the real source of happiness. Say for ex. You have been living in Goa, you have been there but going to Kashmir will always be a welcome change for you, but ask people in Kashmir how they live. Similarly people who are in Kashmir will get pleasant experience in Goa but this is not true for the people who are residing in Goa. By changing people, situation and things you will not experience happiness. In change there is no happiness. In action there is no happiness experienced. It is only when we leave or let go that we will be happy.(vishraam mein hi sukh hai).To sit and relax is the source of happiness. Even if you leave things, but keep ego within you, what is the use. Leave it outside or not, you have to leave that inner resistance (ego) from within, else how will saakshi bhaava arise. The moment resistance or holding from within drops that moment you become gentle, polite, soft and natural (taral).Being rude or hesitant or resistant is the indication of ego (ahankaar).To attempt to become something or to prove that I am something is ego. I am nothing .This softness is the characteristic of saakshi bhaava. This thought is like a fire in which all the sorrows are burnt. The fire in which our whole life is being burnt, just see the faces there is no happiness, no enthusiasm. It`s like as if they are dead. The sign of life is happiness, enthusiasm and why this is not there because sorrow has burnt this happiness and only this fire of knowledge can burn this fire of sorrow. Discard self pity.(bodh agni se aag ko jagaao aur sukhi ho jaao).Be far away from the fire of passion and desires.(dukh se mukt hokar sukhi ho jaao).
It was the dark fortnight (amaavasya) and a person was walking through a jungle where he had a torch light which was very dim due to low battery and there on the way he found something lying down considering it be snake he did not budge because of the fear but when there was lightning , in that moment of lightning ,he saw that it was not snake it was a rope tried to a bucket he took a stick , removed the rope and moved on. Similarly, in this life time once if we understand that we are vishuudh chaitanya and once this knowledge blossoms in us we are liberated. How many times you make a pre conceived notions about others and you see 90% of these pre conceived notions are wrong. All these notins and thinking are inside me. I am a witness to all these. How many times have you been hit by the storm of emotions like anger, greed, and passion? Don’t get swept away in that storm. Learn from your experience, you don’t have to see somebody else and learn. In your childhood you cried for toys. Sometime later you had fight with your friends. You lost some amount in share market and see the faces. This body is anyways going to be on funeral pyre. You have already lost the money and along with that you want to loose happiness also. If you are sad its ok but you need not have to show that you are sad in the expressions .You be happy and peaceful. Often those people who consider themselves as peaceful are the cause for all disturbances. We forget that we are the pure consciousness and once we remember that we become a part of it and with this nischay even if your acts are ordinary there will be no problems.(tum vishesh bhi ho aur nirvishesh bh.).Knowing this you relax. How much ever strong may be the storm of emotion you remain peaceful, become a witness. Don’t flow in the storm of emotions; just become a witness to it. Don’t attempt to suppress these emotions because then you become a doer. just be a witness.(aap chidroop ho iss se aapko kuch nuksaan nahi hua).How many ever clouds come and cover the sky .It does not effect the sky , similarly you also become immovable and unshakeable with this feeling you be steadfast. There is only one atom. At the molecular level all these substances are made up of different elements but you go deep in the micro level you understand that “sab kuch parmaanu se bana hua hai”. All water, stones, mountain and even this body is made up of that same paramaanu.(woh drishthi tum ko mil jaaye ).Every jewelry(earring, nose ring, bangle or necklace) is gold for goldsmith and for a blacksmith everything is iron. Everything is made out of that paramaanu and you are that parmaanu which is there in that mahattava also. (jis se tum bane ho woh aananad hi hai).When we forget this we become sad. The more we relax and repose in our self , the happy we become.
Q: Guruji, I have done so many sins, am I eligible to be on this path. I am repenting for those sins. What do I do?
A: That repentance (prayaschit) you have is enough .You are liberated this moment. Past is past remembering that move on. Be in the moment. Repentance washes away all the sins.

AVG - Day 4

You are liberated this very moment, but it’s attached with an “IF”. If we consider ourselves as chaitanya (chid roop) then we are liberated this moment.”Doing” any action is done to get out off rajo guna, to get off rajo guna you need to have sattva guna.Yoga`s first step is KARMA (doing) .If you have to catch a train, you have to reach the station, book a ticket, go to the platform, board the train however after climbing the train you need to sit at your place and rest. Just think if you see somebody boarded the train and he is running from compartment to compartment carrying his luggage on his head just thinking that he will reach his destination fast, what would you call him ? .you would call him a mad. Once you have climbed, be relaxed and sit.

“I am not this body” this thought comes only when rajo guna relaxes in us. You generally say that at times “I FEEL RESTLESS” that means you are the seer of that restlessness, right. And how does this saakshi bhaav arise in you? It is through dhyaan, sadhna, seva and satsang. Saakshi bhaav can be arisen in satsang. If there is a pain in the body, then you are able to see it. For e.g. If an infant is taken to the doctor what happens the child starts crying because of its previous experience of pain it had got because of injection. The moment the child sees it, it starts crying but what would an adult do, he would say ”give me a prick “because he understands that the injection will cure him faster. The body is going as per the law of nature. Even an enlightened being feels hungry, feels sleepy; however he is a seer of all these happenings. If you get this feeling, you are right now this moment liberated. But for that you need to rest(vishraaam).I am different from this body. I am resting, or I am this body. All these feelings of seer can happen only when you are resting. We keep this thought strongly in our mind “I AM SOMEONE “ It might be a Brahmin,dalit,shudra,vaishy or anybody from these classes or we think that we are a part of any of the four ashrams(brahmacharya,grihasta,vaanaprastha or sanyaas).But ashtavakra tells us we are neither a part of varnas nor the ashrams. These are all the dictums (dharma) of society and the body. You are a mere witness to all these. We have a common perception that we want to see god. This is mistaken statement. We are in process of seeing god. The one who experiences is the AATMA. You are the one who is inside the atma that is paramaatma. Our own consciousness comes in front of the us in the form we like (ex. Krishna,ram,hanuman).These are just reflections of the same you that gives you a glimpse of that form that you are worshipping. What ever you see (darshan) is just reflection (pratibimb) .The seer is only the truth. You are the one who sees and not the one who is seen.

You are ASANG(one without any company) .for ex. In a train if you are going you see everything is moving but you are seated at your place itself. It seems as if everything is running away and we are sitting like that only we also feel that all events are changing but the truth is that we are only the pure witness (saakshi).Just by our mere presence everything is happening. Are you doing anything? There are people around you whose mind is working just by your presence, right? In everybody`s mind there is something going on right, some thoughts some emotions. There are 7 billion people who are the same point of time thinking different thoughts and experiencing different emotions right and all these heads will be in the ganges or in the mud one day. And every moment in all these heads thoughts and emotions are changing ,but how does it effect you .You are like a mountain just still and unmovable even if there are trees and birds coming and sitting and moving out of them.

The next word is nirakaar. You are the one without form. You have no shape or form. These forms or shapes keep changing. Your face glows after you do your Sadhna. Compare the face of a person who does sadhna and the person who sits in front of cinema for a long long time and see the difference in their faces. You will find the changes and you call that movie as entertainment (manoranjanJ).Seeing them you feel so pitiable & go those movies you have given so much stress to your mind. Whenever we are in sleep, we are in that state of niraakaara unknowingly we touch those realms of niraakara. When you rest in that niraakaara swaroop you get relaxed, rejuvenated. Just do that relaxation with awareness. Do it in jaagrat awastha. jaagte jaagte vishraam karna hi mukti hai.jaagte huye ,sone jaise haalat mein,vishraam karna hi mukti hai .Sleep is quite a pleasant experience. But much more pleasant experience than that is the experience of knowledge and Samadhi. While walking, eating , sleeping ,sitting and doing any action you just become a witness and the moment you become a witness you are liberated. And don’t think you will get it after along tine ,after a doing a lot of actions ,NO NOT LIKE THAT just think that you are free this moment ,that’s it. We put our whole life in proving this “ I AM SOMEONE/SOMEBODY”. This TAADATMYA (identification/identity) is ego which keeps us awaya from our niraakar swaroop. We have understood from our intellect,mind is relaxed. but we don’t realize that we need to keep our ego away. We are so much into our identity that when somebody calls us in our sleep we respond to them. Out of ten people sleeping if someone calls your name you will respond ,right. See how deep is our identity (taadatmya) with our name. Ashtavakra says that you are not your name.You are niraakar. ”SHVA” means yesterday(beeta hua kal) and tomorrow(aane waala kal) . Ghatnaao ki bhoomika(playground/ backdrop for the events to happen) jo panch bhoot se bana hai who yeh vishv hai.You are a witness to all these(in sabke tum saakshi ho).Good or bad events you are a witness(saaskshi) . Is saakshi bhaav ka uday tab hota hai jab taadatmya chooth tha hai(saakshi bhhav arises when identity is dropped). Realizing this, you become happy(isko jaankar tum sukhi ho jao).Something expands when you are happy and something contracts when you are sad. What is that ,that expands and contracts .Actually you only feel that something expands and contracts because your mind is n identity with it actually it neither contracts nor expands it is just there. All these feelings happen due to our identity. You are the witness of these actions which brings happiness or sadness, realizing this you become happy((isko jaankar tum sukhi ho jao).Often people say that god this that and I bore the fruit of it. If god has done any action through you, god only will bear the fruit also, where did you come in between from?(yadi hum karta nahi hai to hum bhokta bhi nahi hai).righteousness/unrightousness, good /bad, is all of your mind. Don’t bear it on yourself. You are neither the doer nor the enjoyer. You are liberated (tum mukt ho).If you have done some good to someone or something bad to someone, it is the mind that has done it. YOU ARE FREE FOR EVER. everyone is free. The husk is stuck to the rice grain. Only that husk has to be removed. You need to make an attempt to remove that husk however in this case you just \need to be a witness and nothing else. Don’t consider yourself as the husk. You need to be the witness and then see you are ever free. You were ever free.

AVG - Day 3

It was pouring heavily so Guruji started to take some question and answers and in one of the questions started linking the Ashtavakra Gita.He said ,”Why should we adopt forgiveness, forbearance and being natural in our nature. We do work out of impulse and after that we regret. Lot of inauspicious (anartha) things happens due to anger. The more the forbearance the more happy a human will be. Think and do every work else you shall be unhappy. Earth has got its other name as forgiveness. It gives water events after you dig it. It says dig further deep you will get more water. That’s why it`s other name is forbearance. Forbearance (sahan sheelta) is very important. It`s the sign of divinity. When you do any wok with forbearance it has integrity and is done with heart and soul .The work done with our forbearance is an act without integrity. It is then done just for the sake of doing. Pour your emotions into your actions and do it with integrity. Now a days puja is done for show off. There is no honesty in it. You offer one incense, one lamp and some rice and you say you have done your puja. Even if you do I for two three minutes put your heart and soul into it. Not necessary that the puja must long for hours. Even if you do it for a short span do it with integrity. Puja should be done out of fullness, during that duration not even your eyes should move here and there. There is no reason and no use in showing off while you do puja.

The next word is kind. If you don’t have kindness and compassion, if you are not moved by other`s sorrow you are stone hearted. How is being kind helpful in liberation. Say someone commits a mistake and you are not kind enough to forgive him, you will flare up at him and then lose your balance and start pouring abuses at him. So consider kindness as nectar. The next virtue is being happy. Being happy, nobody or nothing will make you happy. It will not drop from outside things and situations. It is you who need to be happy. Of course, sadhna and pranayam and meditation will help you but you can only make yourself happy (santoshi).In the best of the situation also you can be miserable. It’s up to you to be happy. Take this sankalpa “Come what may, how much ever anybody may abuse me or scold me I decide that I will be happy today. Nobody can take away my happiness today” Take this sankalpa for one day and see the wonders. Take a thought that no one can make me sad. Happiness must be brought from ourselves. Once for three years there was no rain fall so Mullah Nasiruddin was sad and in the fourth year suddenly rains poured (as it was pouring today in the ashramJ) then also some one spotted mullah to be sad. When asked for the reason Mullah replied “All these years I had no work, now have to work” So we decide to be unhappy with the things we have and we decide to be unhappy with the things we don’t have also. All these virtues are like the eight legs of the chair. So we need to balance all of them. Don’t attach your happiness with people, situation and things. It should come within you. Being happy should become a habit. It should come from inside. If something happens or nothing happens also we are sad. Happiness is our very nature. Children are like being happy always. Happiness which when becomes habit is a natural way of being free.

Bhajan means to bind together. When we sing that one word and the emotions bind us to the entire universe, to the entire nature and we are bond to nature and god by that. It is getting united. When we bind with that word of bhajans we get sparked by that divinity. It happens at the level of heart(man).and this yashti gets united with samashti. What is truth? One which is untouched by time. For example if one person comes and say there is an apple on the table , after sometime if somebody else lifts it then the same person will not find that apple again. So certain times the apple might be there certain times, it will not be there. However if it is said that the apple was there, then also it is false. If they say, it is not there then also it is false. However if an enlightened being says a false it also becomes truth. So a Saadhak should be very careful with his words when he speaks. He should not use foul language and abuse. What are blessing? It happens the moment a sentence comes from a liberated person. Thats why a GURUS word is a blessing as well as an order. It is always that a guru`s word is both an order as well as a blessing. This universe and prapanch will stay or not Body is truth also and false also. There is nothing in this world which is not damaged by time. You have to realize that you are not the five elements, then who are you? You are the living consciousness (chid rup).Know that and become liberated. This word from Ashtavakra is an order as well as a blessing.”BE liberated”



From the food has come this body. Five elements (fire, earth, water, space and ether) support has brought this prapanch. This body is a part of this prapanch. There is no liberation for people who live lives of extremes as they cannot practice yoga. Guruji gave the example of a person who came and asked for liberation by starving and then said if you starve pitta element rises high and then it will be difficult to handle that person as he will be mentally imbalanced. The extremities are like eating too much or not eating anything. Or doing so much work or not doing anything, only relaxing all through is also not going to work. Remember by troubling the body you can’t get liberation. Tread the middle path (yuktaahara vihaarasya,yukta swapnavabodhasya : bhagvad gita ) .You become a seer of this body. Let this body walk on the principle of nature. You are the saakshi. The moment we become saakshi nature works as per law and you become liberated and you automatically drop all the extremes. Consider yourself as the pure light. How to become Saakshi. When you rest in yourself, you are liberated that moment itself, but for that you need to rest and not run. You can get it now if you rest right now. It’s easy to say to rest within yourself, but how???What is that stops us from seeing ourselves as saakshi that we will see tomorrow.

AVG - Day 2

Respect needs distance and in love distance can’t be tolerated but in the presence of an enlightened master both evolve .The term Dhruthi can’t have an equivalent in any language. Dhruthi gives goal to life. Its a fire for every work you need to do and for every thing you want to know you must have dhruthi.To forgive, being compassionate and being natural, to control your senses (i.e. not to speak whatever you want and not to do whatever your heart desires) ,to maintain integrity these all are the characteristics of DHARMA. The more amount of these features dwell in you, you will be happier. You can’t be happy if you are angry.All the three i.e. dharma , artha and kaama cause bondage. Liberation is caused only for those who are bond by these and have the desire to be freed. This desire comes either by going through slaps of sadness or by viveka .Sadness or Viveka only can guide you towards liberation.

Ashtavakra gita is an air flight towards liberation. When we have enjoyed so much then we want to know the end of it and then we crave for liberation. All experience need not be got by an individual in this birth. We have been experiencing all these through many lifetimes. So we need to learn some of the experiences by seeing others life as well. Now at least halt in this life time. Make an attempt to realize that we need to stop for that quench of senses. When you get the thirst for liberation you are lucky. The more responsibility and money you get , the more you get entangled.Guruji gives example of a merchant who asks his accountant that how many generations can be satisfied for that the accountant replies “it will be there four generations” and then the merchant says “ I have to still earn for fifth generation. There is still a lot to do”. Our ignorance is the cause for bondage. Heart desires for extremes but it is very difficult to tread the middle path. We are in very deep slumber. We are stuck up only in relationships, respect and disrespect, honour and disgrace and all these are from ignorance which is the cause of bondage. We are caught up in these and we don’t even realize this that we are caught up in these. We don’t understand sorrow as sorrow. First understand that its sorrow and then understand its the cause of bondage.

Knowledge can’t be given where love is not there as Krishna says to Arjuna first “I love you” and then gives the Gita which means a song and song can turn relationships more strong. Even an enemy becomes weak if you start singing that’s why its called as the Ashtavakra Geeta and song can happen only in intimate presence/.If you have liking for liberation consider the objects of senses as poison and leave them.Guruji gives explanation of bulimia (a severe disease where you vomit after you eat and then thrust yourself with more edibles and there is no medicine for it).What it means is that the mind never gets satisfied with the desires. There is no balance between the capabilities of the senses to enjoy and the heart to desire for the enjoyment. There is no balance between the needs of the body and mind. We never care for our body that’s why we are sad. When the senses run, we become outward and that’s why we face sorrow. Only a person who is “antharmukhi “can be happy and this can happen only when you consider that the entire objects of senses are poisonous in nature. Every sorrow helps us to become inward.We need to realize what’s is truth and what is false. We need to walk the path of truth. Truth is nectar (satyam piyusham).That doesn’t mean we hurt someone as well. We need to realize which is truth and which is false .Truth is one which transcends time. It’s not in the realm of past, present and future. It has been permanently there. So if we say this that means everything that is changing is false in that way even our very body is false so we need to understand what is truth, which we will see tomorrow.
